I will be teaching 2nd grade culture, 5th grade Hebrew and tutoring students on an individual basis to prepare them for Bar and Bat Mitzvah.

In the 2nd grade the students will study Bible stories, Holidays and Holiday customs, Mitzvot and will be introduced to the Hebrew letters. Keynote for this grade is fun and learning through storytelling, discussion, projects, crafts, cooking and dramatic presentations.

The 5th grade curriculum consists of a review of all Hebrew vowels and letters so that the students will read fluently and begin to start reading prayers directly from the Siddur. We will be working with an engaging new computer program that will enable students to work at home and track their progress.

My Jewish studies/Hebrew teaching began at East End Temple in New York City during my high school and college years. I have taught Jr Chai, 3rd, 4th and 6th grades at both Temple B'nai Chaim and Temple Shearith Israel and have tutored students in Hebrew on an individual basis to get ready for Bar and Bat Mitzvah. Since my family have been long time members of Temple B'nai Chaim and both my son and daughter were Bar and Bat Mitzvah at TBC, I am especially honored to be teaching here.

I am happy to have the opportunity to be able to teach about our beautiful traditions and share my knowledge of Hebrew with my students and inspire them with love to make a strong connection to their Jewish heritage.
