Dear 4th Grade Families,

Welcome, my name is Rachel Clott and I will be your child's Sunday school teacher this year. This is going to be a very exciting year for your children.  I have planned a wide variety of activities and events throughout the year.   I choose to use many mediums such as crafts, food, and creative projects to make Sunday school interesting, fun and exciting.

We will be using the Chai curriculum this year.  The theme for fourth grade is K'dushah meaning “Holiness”. The fourth grade students will be learning about K'dushah through three venues. They are Torah, Avodah and G'milut Chasadim.  The Torah lessons will focus on the laws and rules found in the Torah.  We will learn how the Torah can help us to live a life filled with holiness.  Through Avodah, we can make our lives and world more kadosh (holy).  Finally through G'milut Chasadim (act of loving and kindness), we will learn that each individual act of G'milut Chasadim can make the world more Kadosh (holy).  I will also be reviewing the Hebrew lessons that are being taught on Thursdays to help reinforce the Hebrew.  We will also be learning about the Jewish holidays and the appropriate prayers for those holidays.

Supplies that your child will need are a: three ring binder, folder with holes; pencil and eraser.

I will be supplying the work book.

I am really looking forward to meeting you.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me by phone or e-mail.  Please notify me if your child has any food allergies or learning challenges.

Rachel Clott

Thank you.
